Remember that one time we were planning on renovating our lovely guest bathroom? Well, we did that, a while ago and did our master bathroom too in the time it took me to snap some photos! Regardless, we LOVE the bathroom and stayed pretty close to our original design inspiration. I didn’t track a complete budget for this project, but one of the things I so glad we did was keep the cabinets the same just with some fresh knobs and modern gray paint. We’ve got plenty of storage to the open shelves over the toilet add just enough of a design touch that also ties in the small wood accents together.
A couple of my favorite highlights:
- Going with the dark hexagon tiles and a slightly lighter gray grout has so far proved to be the perfect combo for our lifestyle. For it being the main bathroom for our boys, we knew keeping the floor clean would be a challenge and this color is so much better for us than something light. We were originally looking at a black color but choose slate gray instead.
- I’d recommend undermount sinks to anyone 10 times over. They are so easy to clean and give that modern feeling we were going for.
- Our countertop is made from a carrera quarts slab that we found at a local discount countertop store, Granite Outlet, and we LOVE it!
- Our high-efficiency, dual conserving flush toilet, sinks, and tub are all American Standard from Lowes and the curved tub gives the boys plenty of room for bathtime while still fitting within the slender profile of the bathroom. Notice the matching curved shower curtain rod?! That’s all my hotel bathroom envy dreams coming true right there!
Once I started working at SMUD, I started to learn a lot more about energy-efficient lighting. I was stoked to find these LED Edison bulbs to match the style of the rest of our house and they say they’ll last around 13 years! The color is perfect – soft enough that our bathroom doesn’t feel like a bad LED lit dressing room and bright enough for a good makeup application.
so beautiful…perfect in every way!
It is beautiful! I love the tile & undermount sink. I also love that you reused the cabinets.
